Authentic Spanish 1 escudo gold cob coin. Found in the
wreck of the ship, San Jose - sailed from Mexico in 1731,
wrecked off the coast of Florida after sailing from Havana
on July 13th, 1733. Coin has a Jersalem cross, and the Philip V
coat of arms. Exhibits the mark of "F" for the assayer,
Felipe Rivas Angulo.


Replica Spanish 2 escudos cob coin. Unknown which mint produced
coin, it has a "G" to the left of the shield, and a "D" with an "O" above
it on the right side. Made by Heritage Legends.


Replica of a Spanish 8 escudos cob coin.
Made by Atocha Treasure Company. Shows a Florenzada
style cross, and what seems to be a Philip V coat of arms.
Minted in Mexico City and the "O" over the "X", a mint
mark used on gold cobs until 1713. Possibly from the
1715 plate fleet.


Replica 1 escudo cob coin. Has a Jerusalem style cross
and a pillar & waves coat of arms. Minted in the 1710's decade at
the Lima Mint. Assayer's mark unreadable. This replica was made
by the Charlton Mint.


Replica 2 escudos cob coin with Jerusalem cross, and pillar
& waves coat of arms. Dated 1700 and minted at Lima, Peru.
Assayer's mark is unreadable This replica was made by
the Charlton Mint.


Replica 4 escudos cob coin. Has a Jerusalem cross
and was minted in 1714 at the Lima Mint, under the
rule of Philip V. Assayer's mark appears to be an "H",
but it may be an "M". This replica was made by the
Charlton Mint.


Replica Spanish 8 escudos cob coin. This one is made
by the Atocha Treasure Company. This one has a
Jerusalem cross and the pillar and waves coat of arms.
Notice the numeral "8" in the upper center of the coat of arms.
The bottom three numerals (7 3 1) indicate the date - 1731.
Minted in Lima, Peru, Assayer's mark is possibly "N" for
Fernando or Joaquin Negron.


Replica 8 escudos coin - almost identical to the one shown
above, with minor differences. The date on this one reads
7 3 6 - meaning 1736, during the reign of Philip V. Mint
and assayer unknown. This replica was made by the
Charlton Mint.


Replica 8 escudos coin - with a Jerusalem cross. Dated
1714, minted in Lima Peru with the assayer's mark of "M" for
Cristobal Melgarejo. This replica was made by Ocean Scan Systems.
